If you want the shiny look of granite on your floor but can’t afford it, why not consider polished porcelain? I was originally deciding between Marble and Granite, but both were around the same price, over $9 per sq ft. My budget was a little lower than that. When I mentioned it to the salesperson at the flooring store, he recommended polished porcelain. I’m so glad he did because the look was quite similar, but the difference in price was huge! Like most city dwellers, I have no experience in dealing with repairs in the home. Needless to say, I can’t count on my significant other to be a handy man either. It gets frustrating spending all that money to hire someone to regrout the tiles and for paint jobs when I could probably do it myself. I’ve always heard about hands-on classes that teach you how to do renovations. Determined to take matters into my own hands, I checked out Home Depot classes and was surprised that they even hold classes specifically for women, and children. To check out these classes click on Home Depot Do-It-Yourself

For those busy people who can’t make it out to the store or those ipod crazed people like myself, Home Depot provides two video podcasts: The Home Depot Workshops and The Home Depot Celebrity Workshops. They provide detailed step-by-step instructions for home improvement projects. The best thing is that subscribing to these podcasts is free on iTunes.

Almost everyone has experienced the inconvenience of a blocked drain. There are many methods out there to fix the problem from harmful chemicals to messy plungers. Pf Waterworks has developed an easy and green solution to this re occurring problem. It’s called PermaFLOW. PermaFlow eliminates the need to use environmentally harmful chemicals. PermaFLOW uses a patented invention called SELFClean creating flow turbulence which breaks and propels debris and cleans itself not allowing the sink to get clogged. You can stop it before is happens!!!! PermaFLOW can also be used to retrieve fallen items with ease so you’ll never lose your bling ever again.  So say good bye to clogged drains with a turn of dial.

I’ve flipped a few properties and done some renos. A relatively inexpensive way to add value most people don’t think about is to knock down a wall. It usually costs a few hundred dollars (i.e. $300-$500) to get a contractor to do it and touch it up with drywall and paint. It’s a relatively easy way to create an impactful spacious effect with today’s open-concept trends.
